McGuire Adds New Barstools To Antalya Collection | November 2006
SAN FRANCISCO (November 2006) ? McGuire, world renowned for its gracefully handcrafted luxury furniture, adds two new barstools to the Antalya Collection executed in laced rawhide. Both barstools feature the geometric pattern in woven rawhide that has made this collection, handcrafted of this distinct material, so recognizable.
By relying on design purity, classic forms and natural materials, McGuire has brought forth stylish yet utilitarian designs to round out its laced rawhide collection. The fluidity of each design creates interesting planes and surfaces for the woven rawhide. The intrinsic beauty and strength of rawhide executed in a contemporary fashion adds depth to a significant, but underserved category.
Rawhide has been a trademark of McGuire since the company was founded more than a half-century ago. At once strong and aesthetically pleasing, rawhide bindings are a signature element of McGuire's famous rattan and bamboo furniture. The creation of a bold, laced pattern of rawhide led to McGuire's distinct collection of seating and tables.

The backless barstool is simple in form but complete on comfort and function. At 17" square, it is generously scaled and offers deep, comfortable seating. It features a tight upholstered seat and rawhide foot rail and comes in any of McGuire's 44 finishes.
The LO-315 barstool has a laced rawhide frame with a classic cut-out shape, reminiscent of the Antalya Slipper Chair. Rattan legs provide a strong base for a tight upholstered seat and rawhide foot rail.
The Antalya collection imbues both eastern and western influences; the Mediterranean city of Antalya stretches on a rocky coastline along the shimmering bay bearing its name. The ancient Turkish city combines a rich history and stunning architecture with modern resorts, palm-lined boulevards and a stunning marina. It is from this exotic region that McGuire has drawn inspiration for its collection in a most distinctive material.
