San Francisco (April 2008) Renowned designer Jacques Garcia has partnered with McGuire to create an outdoor collection to add to their growing roster of designer outdoor furniture. Reflecting the designer's gift for proportion and purity of line, the collection showcases McGuire's unparalleled ability to bring the vision to life. The Jacques Garcia Outdoor Collection features 17 new lounge, dining and occasional pieces, all reflecting Garcia's reputation throughout the design world for creating settings and furnishings that seamlessly combine historic influences, sophisticated forms, and elements from nature.

Influenced by his extensive personal collection of antiques, Garcia has created a singular look for McGuire that incorporates such seemingly incongruous elements as metal rivets, stone slabs, and woven resin. Garcia borrows classic lines from beloved historic forms and pares them down to their most basic elements. When painstakingly rendered in woven resin, the result is a refined piece replete with strength, character, durability and a lasting sense of style.

Topping the list of comfortable and sophisticated pieces in this collection is the woven Sectional. With its generous proportions and inviting cushions, it is just the thing for creating an intimate outdoor seating arrangement with plenty of room. Also providing comfort and panache to an item which often has neither is the new Bar Stool. Available with or without a back, the optional seat pad and relaxed give of the woven resin seat offer ease, while the slender lines and fluid form endow it with a sense of style.

The collection offers additional seating pieces that are the ultimate in relaxation and leisure. The Chaise Lounge is a decadent take on your average poolside lounge chair. With luxurious seat and back cushions, a comfortable head rest, and a woven base that is substantial and sleek, this lounge chair provides the perfect retreat. The Double Arm Bench, sleek and inviting, has gently curved arms and bolster pillows at either end.

For something novel and modern for outdoor settings, the striking Chi Chi Side Table, available in two sizes, is a gleaming cube adorned with rows of rivets to highlight the shape of the table - a refreshing twist on traditional nail head trim. The rectangular Chi Chi Dining Table has the same unique style and straightforward geometry, with a metal or stone inset top option. Also included in The Jacques Garcia Outdoor Collection: a woven Dining Chair, the Tombak Side Table and the round Tombak Dining Table.

Like all McGuire furnishings, these Jacques Garcia pieces are built to bring comfort and respite to its owners for many years. The seating pieces are composed of a tightly woven resin over a sturdy powder-coated aluminum frame. Woven pieces in this collection are available in a light Seashell White finish or a dark Java finish.

All the cushions from this collection are a blend of drainable foam and Dacron, the loose cushion design affords easy cleaning and storage, while the light, but extremely durable and tear resistant qualities of the surrounding fabric gives it the character to maintain its shape. The upholstered pieces are available in fabrics from McGuire's Headlands Collection, a wide selection of rich weaves in a vast range of colors. All fabrics have a remarkably soft hand and can be used both indoors and out. They are soil and mildew resistant and come with a three-year warranty against fading.
